Sebuah Anugrah yang tak ternilai dari Allah SWT Tim Kontes Jembatan Indonesia Jurusan Teknik Sipil UMM menjadi juara I Tingkat Nasional menyisihkan peserta-peserta dari Perguruan Tinggi terkenal seperti UI, ITB,Polban dan 12 peserta lainnya baik negeri maupun swasta. Tim “VANDERMAN” yang diketuai Pamuji Widodo,beranggotakan Shobbah, Rachman dan Isa mahasiswa jurusan sipil angkatan 2005 ini, berhasilmeraih kategori tercepat dalam proses pemasangan yakni dalam waktu 24 menit berhasil merangkai jembatan dengan panjang 5 meter dengan alat-alat yang dinilai oleh peserta lain sebagai alat yang palaing sederhana.(www.umm.ac.id)
Apple Bridge
Selain itu Jembatan yang diberi nama Apple Bridge ini ternyata memiliki kekuatan yang cukup tinggi dengan lendutan yang sangat kecil kurang lebih 2,4 mm yang menjadikan Apple Bridge menjadi jembatan terkuat dalam KJI IV 2008 yang diadakan oleh DP2M Dirjen Dikti Depdiknas. Selain mendapatkan Piala dan 2 Tropi Apple Bridge juga mendapatkan penghargaan sejumlah uang sebesar 12 juta rupiah sebagai uang pembinaan. Dan semoga tradisi juara ini menjadi budaya di lingkungan Fakultas Teknik.
